Living in a new neighborhood, Jamila expects to have a lonely summer; then she meets Shirley. She's a little strange, but both could use a friend. Jamila has no idea that Shirley is a famous detective amongst the kids in the area. While trying to locate a lost pet, the friendship between the two girls hits a bumpy spot.
