Amaya loves living in New York City's Washington Heights neighborhood, where her best friend lives on the other side of her bedroom wall. She and Aracelys are so close they feel like sisters.
But when Aracelys joins Amaya on the Nuñez family's vacation to Vermont, they discover that away from Washington Heights, they don't like the same things. Amaya is certain that Aracelys will love the night skies of Vermont, but Aracelys feels homesick and afraid of the dark. But even though the friends may disagree on the Vermont nights, they support each other and accept each other for their differences.
